TRICUSPID VALVE, RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE HEART CONDUCTION SYSTEM.
This is a view of the right ventricle. The anterior Wall is opened and shows the tricuspid valve, particullary the anterior leaflet. You can see the anterior papillary muscle (4) and the Lancisi muscle(2) bringing chords to the anterior leaflet. This is a key in anatomical and surgical recognition of the leaflets. The muscle of Lancisi brings chords only to the anterior leaflet . The septal leaflet is also seen, retracted partially by a 6-0 silk.
The moderator band and the right bundle branch (1) is clearly showed. By the way, an anatomical variation of the right bundle branch is verified in this specimen. See the section “conduction system for the details.
